megacine

The portable field recorder megacine is a new mobile storage concept for DC (Digital Cinema), HD (High Definition) or SD (Standard Definition) sequences, developed for use on film sets and postproduction.

The megacine offers small size, comfortable handling and up to 2 hours of recording time for uncompressed image data. The data is stored on a raid array of up to 16 notebook hard disk drives with a current storage capacity of about one terabyte.

The recorded sequences can be played back in the same quality as they are captured or they can be down-converted into other standards or frame rates.

Serving as an external hard disk, the megacine stores each video frame separately as an independent file, so that direct transfer to postproduction systems is possible immediately.

Direct access to image data is guaranteed: no longer waiting for film processing, no need for additional video equipment.

Just connect a camera and you are ready to record!
